Escapes (2012)
This video work and book of poems, is at the heart of Unreading for Future Bodies, a long-scale transmedia work that is ongoing. Escapes emerged from a series of performance projects interrogating opera, Greek tragedy, and narrative voice. The 8 poems can be viewed from beginning to end in a fixed running time of 23:21.
Alternatively, one can engage with this work as a kind of hypertext. On Lynn Book’s Vimeo channel viewer-participants can reinvent time, space, (and therefore bodies), by devising escapes from and toward the Phaedra figure by selecting any of the individual poems, introduction, table of contents, credits.
