Conductor (2020)

Conductor is a sound installation designed for six speaker playback that Book created by invitation for the 18th annual Art Stays festival for contemporary art in Ptuj, Slovenia. It’s the largest festival of its kind in Slovenia, having shown over 900 artists in the medieval core of the town, as well as surrounding areas. Conductor was originally sited at the castle complex overlooking the old city of Ptuj and the Drava river. Book was also an artist-in-residence at the festival in 2010 and 2011, as well as a curator and organizer for US based media artists in 2011. In 2022, she is an artist in residence creating, “Instructions for Deranging”, a multimedia installation for the 20th anniversary of the festival.
